Step 1: Determine the user's role. This will define the set of security roles needed for the user.

Step 2: Ensure that licenses are assigned, add user to CRM, and assign security roles

  • Sales Rep
    • Dynamics 365 Sales
      • Requires License: Dynamics 365 Team Member
      • In CRM Power Platform Admin Center, navigate to Environments > Settings > Users > Add User if not already in list
      • Once user shows in CRM, assign Inspector security roles 
        • Activity Feeds
        • Basic User
        • Dynamics 365 App for Outlook User
        • Sales Enterprise App Access
        • Salesperson
      • In XRM Toolbox - run the User Settings Utility
        • Create records = No
        • Show emails not tracked in Activities List = No
        • Records per page = 250
        • Time zone = Central (unless otherwise stated)
  • Enable User for Dynamics 365 Outlook
